I use Cursor everyday but for many weeks now, perhaps longer, I have stopped using the ctrl-l option as it NEVER works. First, I can never clear the previous code changes or previous conversations. When I do ctrl-l I never want to see the past by default. u can provide an option for those who want this but for me, I rarely want to see this. Second, this feature rarely works now. Even chatting with my code is pointless as it always wants to fix things and when it does it always messes up things. So many times I have had new code or unwanted changes introduced that I am very afraid of this feature. It used to work well but now it's a disaster. What I think developers want is either ask a question that involves the entire codebase through @codebase or pick files. or select code and say fix this. that's it. Third, I am not sure what you did when you select code and say fix this because whenever I use Claude 3.5 or 3.7 it often changes code that I did not ask it to fix that is within the selection!??? the pre-prompt for this should be stricter saying do what the user is asking for and IF you find other issues, point them out but don't fix them and don't change things the user did not ask for. Lastly this ctr-l feature is deadly. I have been burned now so many times where I accept something only to realize that entire portions of my code went missing and when I do find out what happened, reverting is a NIGHTMARE. So for now, for me, if this keeps on happening, I need to go back to VS Code. I don't want to have to go to Grok3 all of the time or ChatGPT/Claude. I want to stay in here as much as possible. but right now as is, this app is really a github copilot with limited additional value. I really want to support you guys but this is getting insane. You are fixing many things but these are core issues.
