What You'll See on Your TRMNL Device

Once installed and configured, your TRMNL device will display the following essential information:

• Daily Prayer Times: A clear list of the five daily prayers (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha) along with Sunrise time.
• Next Prayer Highlight: The upcoming prayer will be automatically highlighted, making it easy to see which prayer is next.
• Next Prayer Countdown: A real-time countdown showing how many hours and minutes are left until the next prayer.
• Current Gregorian Date: The current date in the Gregorian calendar.
• Current Hijri (Islamic) Date: The current date in the Islamic calendar (e.g., "15 Ramadan 1444 AH").
• Location & Method: Your configured city, country, and the prayer time calculation method used.
• Last Updated Time: The time the prayer data was last synchronized, indicating its freshness.

The layout and specific details may vary slightly depending on the view size you select on your TRMNL device (full-screen, half-screen, or quadrant), but the core information remains consistent.

Configuring Your Plugin Settings

To ensure accurate prayer times for your location and personal preferences, you'll need to configure the plugin via the TRMNL interface.

1. Access Settings: Log in to your TRMNL account on the web and navigate to your installed plugins. Locate the "Salah Times" plugin and click on its settings or "manage" option. This will open a configuration interface.

2. Adjust Your Preferences: Within the settings interface, you will find the following options:

   • City (Required): Enter the name of your city (e.g., "London", "New York"). This is crucial for location-based prayer time calculations.
   • Country (Required): Enter the name of your country (e.g., "UK", "USA").
   • Calculation Method: Select your preferred method for calculating prayer times. Different methods use varying angles for Fajr and Isha, often associated with different Islamic schools of thought or regional practices. Common options include:
     • Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) - Default
     • Muslim World League
     • Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah
     • Egyptian General Authority of Survey
     • ...and several others (e.g., Karachi, Tehran, Singapore, Turkey).
   • Time Format: Choose between displaying times in:
     • 12-hour format (e.g., "05:30 AM", "05:30 PM")
     • 24-hour format (e.g., "05:30", "17:30") - Default
   • Asr Method: Determine the calculation method for Asr prayer:
     • Standard (Shafi'i, Maliki, Hanbali): Where the length of a shadow is equal to the length of the object.
     • Hanafi: Where the length of a shadow is twice the length of the object.
   • Maghrib Offset (minutes): You can add or subtract minutes from the calculated Maghrib time. This is useful for adjusting Maghrib to match local observations or specific community practices. Enter a positive number to add minutes (e.g., 3) or a negative number to subtract (e.g., -2).

3. Save Settings: After making your selections, click the "Save Settings" button. The plugin will save your preferences, and your TRMNL device will begin displaying prayer times according to your customized configuration.
